The Shizz, formerly known as “The Shizz w/ MMbizz,” is a music and entertainment blog and review site. Editor-of-Everything Melissa Coleman (@melimoz) started the site as a personal blog in 2009, but soon realized that music was far more interesting than her daily activities.
Music coverage on The Shizz mainly emphasizes indie pop/rock but is literally open to anything that’s not Nickelback.
F.A.Q.
Can I use your photos on my site?
Any picture or infographic that’s watermarked with “the-shizz.com” belongs to us. You can use it as long as you don’t go editing the credit out. That would just be mean and time-consuming.
Will you write about my band?
If you are any good, then definitely. Send your music or links to the.mmbizz@gmail.com.
May I write something/become a regular contributer for The Shizz?
Sure. Shoot us an idea and an example of your writing, and it’ll probably happen.
Why do you let readers download other artists’ songs for free?
All free music downloads on The Shizz are solely intended to promote the artists. Download links are generally obtained through music sites such as Stereogum and Spinner, which have all artists’ permission. If you enjoy what you hear for free, consider getting the entire album on iTunes or in a music store. Yes, that means you pay for it.
If you happen to be an artist with a song featured on The Shizz and want it taken down, please email the.mmbizz@gmail.com.
